During installation, a dialog appears warning that email acceleration and FTP acceleration are disabled because another Layered Service Provider (LSP) was detected.
This dialog is a warning stating that email acceleration and FTP acceleration will not be installed on this computer due to a software conflict.

However, the Web acceleration will still work properly. If you would like to have email acceleration and FTP acceleration, the other LSPs must be removed followed by a re-installation of SlipStream SP.
Please contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for proper instruction regarding this matter.

Why am I not able to connect to the remote service?
This problem usually results either a yield sign or a crossed sign for the SlipStream SP icon in the Notification Area
If you see a yield sign as shown below...
Please ensure that you have the correct server name, and server port number for your connection settings. Also please make sure that you have an active internet connection and your server is currently available.
This might also be caused by the High Speed Auto-Detection feature. SlipStream SP will not connect to the server once an active high speed connection, such as DSL or cable modem, is detected.
If you see a crossed sign as shown below...
Please make sure that you have entered the correct username and password in the SlipStream SP connection settings. Some Internet Service Providers (ISP) might require users to log in with their full email address (i.e. user@example.com).
If the problem persists, please contact your ISP for further assistance.

Why can't I right-click on an image to access the "Show Original Image" option?
The "Show Original Image" or "Show All Original Image" option are available only if you browse with the following Web browsers:
- Internet Explorer 5.0® and later
- Firefox 1.5® and later
Some Web sites disable the ability to right-click using Javascript. On other sites, the image in question may be a background image. To view the original quality image under these conditions, change the Image Setting to "Original" and press Ctrl-Refresh in Internet Explorer®. Please note that SlipStream must be started before Internet Explorer® is launched in order to have "Show Original Image" as a menu option.
-
Why is SlipStream SP disabled immediately after it launches?
Please make sure that you have configured SlipStream SP properly; this includes the correct username, password, server name, and server port number. It is also important to check if you have a valid internet connection.
This issue might also be caused by the High Speed Auto-Detection feature. SlipStream SP might be disabled once an active high speed connection, such as DSL or cable modem, is detected.
If the problem persists, please contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for further assistance.

Why is Netscape® not working with SlipStream SP?
SlipStream SP works with Netscape 7.0® and later. The primary reason why the Netscape® browsers are not working with SlipStream SP is that the proxy setting is not updated properly. Please make sure that the Netscape® browsers, including the quick launch located in the system tray, are launched after SlipStream SP is enabled.
Please do not attempt to stop/disable SlipStream SP while you're browsing. Always leave it on for the entire time you're browsing. If SlipStream SP is working properly, the SlipStream icon (in the system tray) should be flashing/changing colour when you visit any Web site. If the problem persists, please contact your ISP for further assistance.
Netscape® might not function properly if there are multiple versions of Netscape® installed on the same computer. To solve this problem, please uninstall any old version(s) of Netscape® and reinstall SlipStream SP.
Windows Vista does not support Netscape® version 8.1.2 or earlier; therefore, on Windows Vista, SlipStream cannot integrate with Netscape® version 8.1.2 or earlier.
An alternative solution is to configure the proxy settings manually. For detailed instructions on how to do this, click here.

Why are Firefox® and Netscape® both disabled after installing 5.1 while version 5.0.59 is present?
If Firefox®, becomes unusable, close the browser, and then stop and restart the SlipStream client. The browser should be functional the next time it is opened. For Netscape®, it requires uninstalling the upgraded client, re-launching Netscape® and uninstalling the older integrator (v5.0.56 or older) from the extension section. After completing the previous steps, reinstall the SlipStream client and integrate with Netscape® if prompted.
Problems in using SlipStream SP (Email and FTP)
-
When SlipStream SP starts, a dialog appears warning that another application is using port 25, port 110, port 143, or FTP port.
By default, SlipStream SP listens to 127.0.0.1:25 and 127.0.0.1:110 in order to accelerate SMTP and POP3 traffic. This warning shows that another application on the computer is listening to either one of these ports, which causes a conflict.
However, the Web acceleration will still work properly. If you would like to have email acceleration, you need to disable the application that is listening to the specified port(s).
Please contact your ISP for proper instruction regarding this matter.
