SlipStream Launches Unprecedented Acceleration And Image Quality With NOW!Imaging Product
New concurrent image delivery technology will deliver more than double the speed of any other acceleration solution as well as superior image quality
WATERLOO, ON, CANADA - October 19, 2005 - SlipStream Data Inc. today announced plans to release NOW!Imaging(TM), which will enable ISPs to deliver web pages that are fully viewable and usable almost instantaneously, while maintaining the maximum quality of images. SlipStream NOW!Imaging will enhance the browsing experience for all subscribers, enabling them to view high resolution images and increasingly image-rich web pages at more than double the speed of any other acceleration solution.
NOW!Imaging delivers all the images on a web page simultaneously, combining SlipStream's patented image compression techniques with newly developed concurrent image delivery. This results in web pages that are instantaneously viewable and usable. Users can then continue to browse and click on links; while pages are viewed, image quality progressively improves until images are at the maximum quality level.
By deploying the new SlipStream SP5.0 with NOW!Imaging, ISPs can offer access to fully-usable, image rich web content at speeds up to 14X faster than traditional dial. NOW!Imaging delivers more than double the speed of SlipStream SP on its own, which is already the fastest web and email acceleration solution available. NOW!Imaging provides similar speed enhancements whether it is used on dial, wireless or light DSL networks. The amount of acceleration experienced depends on the richness of the page in terms of images. When loading pages with more images, or higher resolution images, subscribers will notice an even bigger difference.
"Accelerating image delivery has traditionally been the challenge to enhancing Internet performance, but NOW!Imaging overcomes this challenge," stated Ron Neumann, president, SlipStream Data Inc. "Current browsers deliver web pages one image at a time, which creates frustration when trying to view pages that often use a lot of high resolution graphics. Traditional accelerators can speed up delivery but sacrifice image quality. With NOW!Imaging, ISPs don't have to make the trade-off between offering superior speed and image quality."
NOW!Imaging is powered by the new SlipStream NOW!Technology(TM) platform. NOW!Technology enhances SlipStream's core acceleration, adaptive data compression and network optimization technology and delivers the next generation of acceleration, image quality and service for ISPs. The new NOW!Technology products - NOW!Service(TM) and NOW!Imaging - are optional add-on products supported by SlipStream SP, which is the most widely-deployed web and email acceleration solution in the world.
The new SlipStream SP5.0 and NOW!Technology products will be available later in the year and are currently being demonstrated at ISPCON (Oct 18-20, Santa Clara, CA), PT/Wireless Comm China (Oct 18-22, Beijing, China) and Andicom (Oct 26-28, Cartagena, Colombia) tradeshows.
