SlipStream Acceleration Leadership Confirmed In Independent Tests Conducted By VeriTest
SlipStream increases web browsing speeds by up to 7.33X
Waterloo, Ontario - April 20, 2005 - SlipStream Data Inc. today announced that its SlipStream SP web and email acceleration software beat out the competition in independent Benchmark testing conducted by VeriTest. SlipStream's sophisticated acceleration technologies compress, optimize and streamline data, increasing web-surfing speeds by up to 7.33 times-further strengthening its performance leadership as the world's fastest web accelerator.
The tests were commissioned by SlipStream and conducted by independent testing solutions provider VeriTest. The tests ran a comparative analysis between the SlipStream SP product and its closest competitor, Propel's Accelerator product, to determine which was faster at downloading and streaming data over the Internet.
The test results showed that SlipStream's maximum gain when accelerating web pages was more than 40 percent higher than Propel's maximum gain. SlipStream beat out Propel on both first and subsequent access speeds, improving first-time web page download times by 26.5 percent over Propel, a significant difference given that the SlipStream accelerator required only 6MB of hard disk space, whereas the Propel solution exceeded 136MB. Also significant is the fact that, for both first and repeat views, SlipStream showed better consistency in web page download times due to lower standard deviations compared to Propel, resulting in a much more consistent performance and better end-user experience.
