SlipStream Data Announces the SlipIN Framework

New offering gives ISPs a customizable, single interface
for managing value-added services and increasing profitability

Santa Clara, CA (ISPCON) – November 3, 2004 – Building on customer demand and the success of the world’s fastest and most widely-used web and email acceleration software, SlipStream Data Inc. today announced the development of the SlipINTM Framework.

SlipIN builds on the leading web and email acceleration capabilities found in SlipStream® SP by allowing Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to easily integrate and manage third-party applications. SlipIN delivers a single software point for managing services such as security applications, pop-up and ad blockers, parental control and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). This ultimately leads to an improved online experience for dial-up, broadband and wireless subscribers.

"SlipIN is a highly-anticipated development in the ISP world,” said Romie Sidabras, COO of Friendly Technologies. “SlipStream has listened to the needs of ISPs and developed an easy-to-manage platform that provides total control over the services they roll out to their subscribers. We have seen increasing demand for such a wide range of value-added services, including our integrated dialer with complete branding capabilities. SlipIN will allow ISPs to satisfy these customer needs more efficiently, and with the peace of mind of proven, pre-tested technology.”

SlipIN works in tandem with SlipStream SP, the defacto standard in accelerated dial services for ISPs, with over 900 ISP partners worldwide. SlipStream SP gives users a powerful web and email acceleration solution that combines patented, proprietary data compression technology with optimization components that further increase performance. The SlipIN Framework integrates SlipStream’s acceleration technology with any third-party application, allowing ISPs to create an end-to-end service offering tailored to their needs and subscribers.

“SlipIN is, in effect, a container for all of an ISP’s services, which streamlines the complexity of selling, rolling out and billing for multiple bundled services,” said Ron Neumann, president of SlipStream Data Inc. “The framework can be fully branded by each ISP and also includes the ability to add on their own legacy or home-grown system if required. The development of SlipIN supports our mission of enabling ISPs to deliver the most fulfilling online experience, which results in customer loyalty and greater profits.”

While some acceleration providers offer a bundle of services, which include specific applications with limited functionality, the SlipIN Framework allows ISPs to choose the partner that delivers the best technology for their needs. SlipStream’s current technology partners certified on the SlipIN Framework include industry leaders such as Friendly Technologies, Zero Knowledge Systems, NetSweeper, Kidsnet, Authentium, Aramova, and Optenet. Certified SlipIN partners will complete integration and testing and, once seamless interoperability is verified, will have access to joint marketing programs.

The SlipIN Framework will be featured at ISPCON in Santa Clara, California from November 3–5, with more details about the partner program, new relationships and future releases to follow.
