Mac Dial-up Users Gain Access to Web Acceleration Services through Select ISPs
WATERLOO, Ontario, December 17, 2003 - SlipStream Data Inc. today announced that Mac OS-X users who subscribe to an Internet dial-up service are now able to take advantage of its Web Acceleration software through select ISPs (Internet Service Providers). SlipStream recently added a Mac OS-X client support giving users accelerated web-browsing capabilities.
Mac OS-X users can experience an increase in download times by up to a factor of five using SlipStream's acceleration solution. SlipStream's data compression software is behind the successful launch of accelerated dial-up services for over 500 ISPs worldwide including United Online, RCN, TDS Telecom, Clix and AOL Canada.

Customers surfing the Internet with these technologies will find that web pages download up to five times faster than traditional dialup.
It is estimated that fewer than one half of Internet subscribers in the United States access the Internet over high-speed broadband networks. In the next five years, while broadband access is increasing, it is projected that more than 30 million people will still rely on dial-up for Internet access.
