SlipStream Data's Web & Email Solution Accelerates Dialup in New Zealand
Quicksilver Internet now selling SlipStream Data's acceleration solution
WATERLOO, Ontario, May 6, 2003 - SlipStream Data Inc. today announced the signing of its first international client, Quicksilver Internet, a privately-held company providing telecommunications and Internet services in New Zealand.
"This partnership provides us a foothold in the important Asia-Pacific market. Quicksilver will be offering SlipStream to its customers, as well as other ISPs that white label their services," says Ron Neumann, President of SlipStream Data. "More than 50% of New Zealand residents access the Internet through dial-up connections. With our technology, this experience can be richer and more enjoyable."
Since launching its technology in 2000, SlipStream Data has signed significant North American ISPs such as United Online and increased their subscriber base to hundreds of thousands. SlipStream's technology compresses, optimizes and streamlines web and email content when it leaves the server. This provides surfers with a dramatic improvement in web-browsing speed, meaning pages download in seconds, not minutes. The New Zealand partnership represents the first international ISP that will enable SlipStream to expand into Asian and European markets.
"It is our mission to provide New Zealanders with a no-nonsense alternative for their telecommunications and Internet services," says Trevor Isted of Quicksilver Internet. "With SlipStream, we are realizing dreams of the online revolution by eliminating headaches associated with long waits for downloading web content and email on traditional dial-up accounts."
